Mechanical Engineering Lecturer

Up to £34,500 with up to £3,000 STEM specialist skills award

Full-Time, Permanent

Can you inspire our learners and guide them on their journey to a career in Engineering?  

This role involves teaching theory and practical work, therefore you’ll need to have experience of training and mentoring learners and peers. You’ll be confident to develop assignment and assessment material for learners in each specific programme, and to produce engaging and creative schemes of work and lesson plans for our diverse students. Our friendly team is ready to grow and to support the right person to do this, so we welcome applications from people in industry looking for a career change where you get to pass on your knowledge and expertise.

We are incredibly excited about progressing a merger with New College, Swindon from August 2020 and the developments arising from our successful Institute of Technology award, which will extend the career opportunities for both our learners and staff cohort. It’s a really great time to join us!

In this role you’ll need:

• Experience of teaching, training or mentoring learners or apprentices,

• The ability to evaluate, assess and give feedback,

• Resilience and the commitment to engage with a wide range of diverse abilities, and

• The ability to produce high quality schemes of work, lesson plans and be willing to work with peers to share and engage with best practice approaches

Qualification and experience required:

• A Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or the commitment to gain this qualification),

• Higher Degree (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline and

• A level 2 English and Maths qualification (or equivalent), or the willingness to secure these as you work with us.
